While crews were on scene the transformer exploded causing a power outage in the areas below. Traffic lights are reported out at the intersections of Sunrise highway and Lakeland, Smithtown and Locust Ave’s please use caution when traveling in those areas. PSEG Long Island has been notified and is working to restore power as soon as possible.
